How to Care for the Colour of Skirted Swimwear
Sun, pool water and repeated washing can affect the colour of swimwear. For a skirted swimsuit, the extra layer also needs attention when rinsing and drying. A simple care routine starts with the instructions sewn into your garment.

Rinse after swimming
Rinse with cool, fresh water after use, following the care label. Gently open out the skirt so water reaches both the outer fabric and the swimsuit underneath. Avoid leaving the wet garment rolled in a towel or closed bag.
Use the washing method on the label
Check the permitted temperature, washing method and cleaning product. If hand washing with a mild detergent is allowed, handle the fabric gently and rinse thoroughly. Avoid scrubbing or twisting it. Do not add bleach, fabric softener or a protective spray unless the manufacturer specifically allows it.
Let every layer dry
Gently press out excess water without wringing. Follow the drying instructions and keep the garment away from direct heat and strong sunlight. Spread the skirt so it does not trap a damp underlayer; check both layers before putting the swimsuit away.
What colour care can and cannot do
Care cannot guarantee that a colour will never fade or restore a faded print. A dark shade, busy pattern or fibre name alone does not prove colourfastness. Check the individual product information for specific fabric properties and avoid rough surfaces that can snag it.
